Left Quadriceps Tendon Rehab Log - 6 weeks post surgery

Starting this past Friday I am able to bend my knee 0-40 degress in standing. This makes walking much easier. I am now walking without a crutch and I can carry light objects. My knee is bending up to 70 degrees currently. The goal is to get it to bend to 110 degrees by week 12. As my knee gets stronger I will be able to bend it more in weightbearing but not past 70 degrees. Saturday I got on the elliptical trainer for the first time since surgery with the brace set 0-40. It was great to be able to do this but my knee got tired very quickly and I stopped at 3 minutes. After resting I did another bout of 2 minutes. In the next couple of weeks I should be able to actually complete a 15-20 minute workout on it. My quadriceps is getting stronger every day and I can now do straight leg raises with 7#. I am going to the gym at least 3 days per week and this will increase as my knee gets stronger. I am working on step ups on a 2 inch step. No open chain strengthening yet. I continue to ice about 2 hours per day. Though it did swell more after starting the elliptical trainer and I iced it about 7 hours yesterday. My work schedule is back to normal but there are a few things I cannot do yet.
